Where is Judith Roberts?

Still Missing: Judith “Judy” Roberts

Last seen May 16, 2025 – In Lincoln City OR, Florence OR, and Winchester Bay OR.

It has now been over a month since 81-year-old Judith “Judy” Roberts vanished from the Oregon Coast, and the silence surrounding her disappearance has only deepened the heartbreak for her family and the urgency of our mission here at Oregons Vanished. People are not supposed to just vanish…

Judy, a resident of West Linn, Oregon, was last seen on Friday, May 16th. She had plans to meet a friend for lunch in Portland OR, but she never arrived to meet her friend. Instead, it was discovered that she had left her working phone behind and accidentally grabbed her old phone that was no longer active leaving her family with no way to contact Judith. There were no signs that she planned on being gone for an extended period of time. She simply seems to have vanished, without a note, a plan, or any sign of preparation.

Her whole family says this is entirely out of character for her.

“There was no indication to us that she would just get up and go and leave,” her daughter Elizabeth shared. “She had no suitcase with her. Her toothbrush was left by the sink. She had chicken defrosting in the refrigerator.”

Judy’s white 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, Oregon license plate 501 JYP, was seen on May 16th, 2025, in the mid-late afternoon driving southbound on Highway 101, this is when she stopped for gas in Lincoln City. The vehicle was seen two more times that same day (May 16th) in the early evening driving through Florence and then again in Winchester Bay. These sightings, paired with her last known direction of travel, suggest she may have continued south perhaps confused, disoriented, or in distress. We have not been able to find her vehicle or Judith in any other surveillance footage after Winchester Bay.

Judith is 5’6”, weights approximately 105 LBS, with short gray hair, wears glasses, and was likely wearing casual clothing. She lives with a mild cognitive impairment, but she is high-functioning, sharp, and capable which is what makes her sudden disappearance all the more alarming.

Since that day, Oregon’s Vanished has led coordinated search efforts along the coast, beginning in Lincoln City and stretching down to Bandon. We have distributed flyers, investigated rest stops, campgrounds, state parks, boat ramps, and RV parks, we have followed every tip, no matter how distant or uncertain. We have also posted her flyer on hundreds of Facebook pages in the pertinent cities.

Though the initial article detailing Judith’s case was published at the end of May, weeks have passed without resolution. What began as a local search has evolved into a statewide plea: Help us find Judy.

Her vehicle has not been recovered. There have been no confirmed sightings since Winchester Bay. Her family, her friends, her community, they are still waiting, still hoping, and still praying.

We ask everyone, especially those living in or traveling through Douglas, Coos, Curry, or nearby counties, to please stay vigilant. Take a moment to look at her photo. Check your security cameras. Think back to anyone you may have seen on the road who appeared confused or in need of help.

This is not just another missing person’s case. This is someone’s mother. Someone’s friend. A woman who should be safe at home but is instead out there—possibly scared, cold, or lost.

If you see Judith or her white 2017 Volkswagen Jetta (Oregon plate 501 JYP), please call 911 or contact the West Linn Police Department at 503-655-6214 immediately. We ask that you also send us any leads or tips as well that may help to bring Judy home. Any tips can be sent to oregons.vanished@gmail.com. No tip is too small.

To Judith’s family: we see you, we stand with you, and we are not giving up.
